- Voice / audio data: microphone recordings captured during speech-practice sessions. Audio is sent to our servers and third-party speech-recognition services solely to evaluate your pronunciation and provide feedback. We do not store raw audio long-term.
- Usage data: lessons completed, scores, streaks, and in-app activity used to track your learning progress.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, and app version for debugging and analytics purposes.
- Analytics data: anonymised event logs (screen views, feature usage) collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the app experience.

- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech – Generating example audio for lessons
- OpenAI – AI-powered conversation feedback
- ElevenLabs – High-quality voice synthesis
We share only the minimum data necessary with each provider. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
Permissions We Request
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Required for speech-practice sessions. The microphone is accessed only while you are actively recording a response in the app.
- Internet: Required to sync your progress, fetch lesson content, and communicate with our servers.
- Notifications: Optional. Used to send lesson reminders and achievement alerts. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.
Data Retention
We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. Audio recordings are processed in real time and are not stored permanently on our servers. Anonymised analytics data may be retained for up to 24 months.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
Children's Privacy
Say Right is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
